Bulletin

9 April 2020

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

What a strange experience to be isolated from each other during Easter! In the interest of everybody’s health we need to follow the rules and guidelines set by Government, and we need to trust them to make the correct decisions for the physical well being of us all, just as we need to trust our Lord for our spiritual salvation.

Please remember that although we are physically apart, we are united in Christ and we should celebrate Easter as His Church. We need to support each other in Faith, Hope and Love, and Session would like to assure you that we are here for you. If you need any assistance, whether it be for prayer, a chat, or physical assistance, be it food, transport, or advice, please feel free to reach out to any of the Elders or Deacons. If the specific person you contact is not able to help, they will assist to find help.

Let us go into the Easter weekend reflecting on the love of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

With kind regards,

Barto du Plessis
Chair of Session

Kingdom Kids

It was such fun this week preparing Easter crafts and a little bit of joy for our MCRC kids to receive in the mail. If your family has Sunday School age kids but did not receive something in the mail from the Sunday School team or would like to be added to our ‘Home Sunday School’ emailing list, please let me know at daniellagollan@gmail.com . I would love to send it out to you too!

I pray that each one of you would be especially blessed this weekend in the remembrance and celebration of our wonderful Lord Jesus Christ and the gift we have to be His!

Have a wonderful Easter weekend!
Daniella Gollan

Food for Thought

In this curious and remarkable time of isolation and social distancing, could we view this differently? We are practicing physical distancing, as we should, but perhaps this is a rare opportunity for social drawing closer to one another, in the body of Christ. Jesus has always said that church is not about the physical building: We are the church. So, let us step up and be church to one another. Let’s pick up the phone and call one another, for the kinds of long chats we are normally too busy for, or even just for a quick catch up: “I’m thinking of you.  How are you managing? Can I pray for you right now?” We don’t know how long this will last, or if we will ever have this opportunity again. This is what the Bible says to us: “Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days….understand what the Lord wants you to do.” Ephesians 5:16
